I was just messing around with my CSi5 yesterday and found that the 2 6.5" driver aren't putting out the same sound/power. One sounded more like a filler the other one seems to play at full range is this right? I had 2 pairs of CSi5 in possesion and tested the other one too and it did the same...

Cascade Tapered Driver Array: Some center channel speakers, due to their horizontal design, have a difficult time evenly distributing the sound throughout the listening area. To combat this problem, the speaker features a "cascade tapered array," meaning one woofer plays only the bass frequencies, while the other handles both bass and midrange. This setup results in broad, even sound dispersion, and a better overall surround sound experience.

yeah man I like it here too,

So I supposed that's a good thing? I think it's a waste of the other driver, but what do I know.

My HK doesn't allow me to set my center channel as "large" when I'm using optical cables or certain surround mode. The only one I see possible is 3 channel stereo. I just missed a deal for a Denon AVR3300 for only 300 bucks I was so pissed. I think the Denon would be a better match for my speakers. My cousin has the 2800 with some paradigms and they sound pretty good for just bookshelfs and sub.

funny I don't see why an optical cable would make the receiver not allow to do that.

THere are certain surround modes that I can't get into. Also which connection is better? I currently have my DVD player hooked through a toslink optical cable. I have some Component video/audio cables left and they are low loss 75ohms cable that are pretty high quality I will only need 1 of those cable for a coax hook up. Which would be better? Coax or stay with my toslink?

the great debate which is better. Try one of those cables to see if will allow you to change the speaker setting. I use coax for my dvd I use coax to a toslink converter for my dig cable ( I only have 1 coax on my receiver). I prefer the coax. It's up to you giver a try and see what you prefer and most of all it may allow you to set the center to what size you want.

I tried coax as well as optical. they both give me the same feature but I haven't really sit down to actually listen yet since the last time I tested it I only crabbed some regular RCA cables to test it, sounded pretty good though. Will try some more once I get everything mounted..... I'm still waiting for an answer for this thread . Any of you can help?

yeah right your room issue, I'm not sure I have a hard time with my rears they are not at the right spot as my couch must be against the back wall and my stands are not tall enough..but thats my prob.

Back to you I still do not know why you cannot set your center. what if you change the settings of your mains ? can you then change the setting for center ?

Not at all, on the contrary, I think it's invaluable(spelling?), there is much more LF than we normally think.

As for digital cables, it's sending 1 and 0, not much there you can improve or lose.
I've used the worst RCA interconnects possible and still had great sounds, It's all gimmicks.
