Would you buy these?
I had nothing to do at work today, so I modeled these speakers. That's a 15" woofer on the side. Enjoy.

if it was a high excursion 12 instead of a 15/18"... I'd definitely give them a hard listen to... but it also depends on drivers and how the overall sound works together.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

The program is called "Pro/ENGINEER". It is regarded as the best 3D CAD modeling software. I am fortunate enough to work for a company that uses this software.
The cabinet at the widest part is 11".Bob Mayo, on the keyboards. Bob Mayo. -
No, but they look real neat.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I like the looks, but there are some problems: Mfg would be a pain in the a$$
With wood, you'd be talking about a lot of milled/wasted material and/or bending.
The shape also doesn't led it too well to a mold so plastics/epoxies would need extensive finishing work.
I guess you could make it by cutting a bunch of tubes with straight pieces but internal bracing and joint weakness could present concerns.
Also, moving the bottom midrange so that it's bottom is above the midpoint of the woofer would make assembly much easier.

You guys crack me up. I'm not going to try to make these, this is just something fun to do at work because I have no real work to do right now. I know that speaker could not be made, easily.

send me some IGES files of you HT designs, if you don't mind. that would be cool to see what you've come up with.Bob Mayo, on the keyboards. Bob Mayo. -

Whoops, Microstation 95, D'uh! No IGES files... My bad. I wish I had solid works on my comp now...
Oh, and before you mock my software, it was good enough (at the time) to impress Lucas when I was working with a subcontractor doing accoustical treatments at the Skywalker ranch. There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. That's too bad...
I wouldn't mock the software. When I first started out working with CAD programs, it was AutoCAD R.13, running in DOS. Now THAT was a system worth mocking. It was shortly thereafter upgraded to the Windows version, but it wasn't much better.Bob Mayo, on the keyboards. Bob Mayo. -
I learned on ACAD 10 in highschool and 12/13 in College using X-windows. How about a maggie/ribbon design with a cone woofer that actually has some extension.
