2 channel amplifiers

Sometime during the course of this year, I am thinking about upgrading my amplifier section in my system.
Right now, the Yamaha receiver pushes 100 Watts to each channel, but I'd like to experience some real power to see how much of a difference I will notice. Probably start with a two channel amp for the mains(LSi7's), then add a channel or two at a time until I complete my setup.
I know a few people use Rotel amplifiers for two channel and HT and they interest me a little bit because there is a local dealer available to listen to them.

What wattage should I look at to power them? I've considered the RB-1050(or similar) because of price, but I don't know if the power available will add any improvement. If I can afford it, I'll go with more power, but again that is if I can afford it.

Are there any suggestion between the $200-$300 range(used) for a two channel amp, that I should look for during this year?
Tschüss

I wouldn't be looking at the wattage as much as everything else. Even a 50 watt external amp (if a decent brand) would be an improvement over the 00 your receiver is doing. I like parasound, especially with the LSi series. Take a look at the HCA1500, it should be somewhere close to your budget...

Get as much power as you can afford, especially for the fronts. Minimum 200 wpc into 8 ohms.

You'll need a bigger budget for 2-channel amplification, especially if you're looking for a significant difference in SQ with the Lsi7's. Look at a budget of approx. $350 - $400 for a decent used amp. Parasound is good, although you may need a bit more money for the HCA-1500 in great condition.
