The Rotel should be a good choice for just about anything. I've seen good reviews of the Carver, but I seriously doubt you'll be asking yourself and 'what if's' wit the Rotel.Polk LSi9 Mains, Polk LSIC Center, Polk RT25i Surrounds, Polk M3II Rear Surround, SVS PB10-ISD Sub, Denon AVR 2809 (as digital pre/pro only), Sony BDP-S350, Oppo DV-981HD, Cambridge Audio Azur 540C (CD), Marantz MM9000 5-ch amp, Outlaw ICBM, Panasonic th-42PX85u HDTV, Behringer BFD Pro, Monster Power HTS 2600 Conditioner

Based on my limited experience, I would actually recommend neither and get a stereo amp if you do music listening...for example, Rotel 1080 which sounds MUCH better than 1075 for music. Your receiver prob. has enough juice to run the surrounds and possibly center....good luck.System 1: Martin Logan Vantage, Rotel RC 1070, B&K Reference 200.2, Music Hall DAC 15.2, Yamaha 2300
System 2: LSi15 w/db840, Marantz SR8400, Rotel 1080, RM6800 (C&S), Sony X2020ES
System 3: LSi7, Yamaha SW215, Music Hall Maven, Music Hall MMF CD25 w/627opamps
System 4: RTi100, Harman Kardon AVR 230, Panasonic DVD -
What is your DVD/cd player? Perhaps upgrade that first?

I second the Rotel. Plenty of power to run the speakers. I listen to alot of multichannel music. At pretty loud levels too. The 1075 is running my center and surrounds, one solid piece of equipment. It also looks good.:D
