Got home from work today and she was waiting on my doorstep...

A BRAND NEW IN THE BOX NEVER OPENED

PARASOUND HCA-3500.....:D :D:D

On the advise of our very own Polkmaster Doro, I set out on a
mission to find a used HCA-3500 to mate with my DODD tubey,
that he was kind enough to bless me with (for a nominal fee of course) !

This mission almost landed me on the poor and stupid list ...

Again I listened to some very sound advise, and didn`t fall for the ebay scam (would have if I hadn`t got heads up from doro first),
because I was being impatient with a purchase I thought I had already been takin` on...
(posted warning in clubhouse)

She`s beautiful..!!
Brand spankin` new...!!

Heavy little **** though.
Almost rebroke my leg trying to drag it upstairs..!!!

I need to get a stand or rack of some sort..
I was looking at this one...

Adona AV45CS3

any thoughts?

See, I told you to be patient...nice amplifier, no power issues now, LOL.

The Adona Corporation, Paul Lemanski(Owner), is who built my rack. It's hardcore, and even better looking in person. Top notch in quality and construction.

He is doing some custom work for me now, on something else.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I'd go with the single frame design. I was also into the split up look, but Paul said it isn't actually beneficial....it's aesthetics.

He suggested that I go with the single frame design and shot load it....which I did. It was heavy, but now it's real heavy.....no mechanical vibrations possible, aside from an earthquake perhaps.

You'll also save a couple bucks to boot.

Remember to measure correctly, and think ahead. I had a custom length cut, so it's taller than the stock sizes he has....just in case I wanted to add a shelf later.

That amplifier needs at least 8 inches of breathing room IMO. Don't crowd your tube pre-amp up either. Take a look at my showcase for an idea....since one of your pieces is essentially shown, and the amp is similar in size.

Took a long look at the set-up...

If you wanted to add another shelf you would just bolt it in...yes ?

    Outstanding.

You certainly haven't dicked around, then again, why? I can't wait for you to get it all together. You'll probably just sit there and **** in your flat hat.

If your rig doesn't cause you to soil yourself, keep working on it. I'm almost to the point of wearing diapers around the house.

    Cheers,

That looks powerful. What do you use to keep the power cables away from the I/Cs in something like that? Zip ties seem 'gouche' with an elegant piece like that.

Bear - Yes, the shelves "slide" into the grooves of the frame. I would just loosen them, and adjust them up or down. If and when I add a TT, it will be on top, and an isolated shelf and frame. That's what's so great about his stuff, is that you can modify or change the structure as you see fit.

My goal is a Parasound JC-1 monoblock on the left and right....and already have the layout setup....but you never know, things always change in this hobby.

It's a little tricky to assemble at first, in order to not scratch the powder coating, but I have a couple tips for you, just give me a ring if you get serious on that choice.

Russman - No kidding eh? Man, he's freaking balls to the wall....like skipping a couple years of playtime to start solid. It's a helluva start, I'll say that much.

Rob - I just use black velcro straps, RipTies actually, but a velcro strap is velcro strap. The frame "channels" allow me to route them tightly along the frame, and as away as I can get them from the signal carrying IC's....not perfect, but enough to make me happy.

I've found in my travels that you can't do all the silly suggestion or recommendation crap, just do what you can, and go with it.

    Congrats on your powerhouse!

Doro's hifi rack is hardcore (much like him), you'll love it.

    Thanks guys...

I think after I order my new Rack, I should look into a CD player.

Might even think about a phono,
but that collection is long gone...

    maybe some lsi9`s...

or maybe that SVS I `ve had my eye on....
