Win Media Player is making me crazy

Does anyone know how the hell to use Win Media Player?

I'm either half stupid or this is the most difficult program to use, ever.

What I want to do is create a "Playlist". I have figured out how to create the playlist, but I cannot figure out how to save it to a specific location. I'd like to create a subfolder for playlists in the folder where I keep the .mp3's. Does anyone know how to do this? When I create the playlist, it automatically saves it to some unknown location.

I don't think you can do this with WMP. I tried before with version 8 I think and could never get it to work. I'm sure that it has to store the playlist files somewhere when you create one, but I don't know where or in what format...

I did a search of the "C" drive, just typed in the name of the playlist, which was Assbag Monday, and the search found the playlist in some odd, random folder. I tried moving the playlist to the folder that I wanted it in, but when I went into Media Player, it couldn't find the playlist.

The default path for playlist files is ..\My Documents\My Music\My Playlists\filename.wpl

In Windows Media Player - Tools - Options - Copy Music you can set a different default location and the My Playlists folder should be created in the path you specify.

    Hope that helps.

I can help - Use Winamp.

WMP is a piece of garbage.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

yes, i am beginning to see that. I still have not found a way to take a CD, and copy it to the hard drive in .mp3 format with WMP. I've been using Real Player or something to copy my CD's to the hard drive in .mp3.

CDEx for ripping and foobar2000 for playing, I only use WMP to watch compressed video files. It does have some nice features to it but not worth the hassle for me.

Dear God, please remove Real Player from your system as soon as possible.

For ripping, a GREAT program is dbPowerAmp (www.dbpoweramp.com).

RealPlayer is RIDDLED with SpyWare. I had to wipe out my ENTIRE OS to get rid of all the garbage that program installed.

I've used foobar2000 but prefer WinAmp, it has quite a few more features.
