SOoo i finally got 5 speakers and could not be happier ,
RT800i, CS3i, and FX3i, (all i need now is a Sub  )
I am a poor recent grad with loans to pay off, but I still want to hide them wires. They dont look so great when I place them around the perimter of the room.
1. Is there a cost effective way to hide them(besides running them under rugs and sofas)
2. how do i get them behind the wall? is there a DIY trick out there?? (expecially for surrounds which will be mounted, RIght now they are sitting on a table and a file cabinet)
well any help would greatly be appreciated.... room size is about 12'x20'
thanks.

Is the room carpeted ?
If yes run them along the base board or tucked between the BB and carpet -
nope... its a tiled floor, and... my major question is more how do i get it up the wall(inside the wall)? is there a way to do that?
i guess i could take off the base board molding and run it behind there... but what about getting up to my surrounds? thas my major deliema?
thanks agian -
Drill holes (1/2"diameter) at speaker locations and directly below behind base board. Use a snake (flat stiff wire) to run wire behind plaster walls from top hole to bottom hole.
Remove base boarde and cut 45 angle beval on back of base board for speaker wire to lay.
Use stud locator to avoid drills holes into stud.
Have a blast.
It will take you all day to do this depending on the tools you have. -
There are many ways to go about hiding wires, it just depends on how much time you want to invest into it. Here is what I did.

Did you just putty over it ? very interesting method never thought of that at all

I finished it off the same way you would finish drywall, drywall tape and spackle.Money Talks, Mine says Goodbye Rob!!!!

It is quicker to snake the wire directly vertical in the wall from the base board to the speaker. If I needed to run speaker wire horizontally I would cut into the wall board and fill with spackle like the photo shows
Just my $0.02, I have done it both ways. -
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
