question for Rotel RSP 1066 owners

Well I have the bug again to purchase a used 1066 pro. Before purchasing the thing I have just a couple of questions I hope someone can help me out with. What low frequency crossover settings are available for both small and large main speaker settings? My Harman Kardon gives me 40Hz and 60Hz for the large setting and 80Hz and 100Hz for the small speaker setting. Just hoping the Rotel gives me more options for LFE settings.
I should probably just do a search on the 1066 but I really am a lazy arse!! Was thinking about going the OUTLAW route but I am familiar with the sound of the Rotel and just love it! And yea, I dream about those damn LSI's everyday.....

Edit, Jeez never mind. Just checked out your systems. Gotta get down your way one day to check 'em out...I'll bring the cold ones.suds, suds and more suds! -

Settings are OFF, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 hz and only valid if those speakers are set to SMALL.

Greg,
Now that I think about it... the 1066 had bass management issues. You might want to read about it here:

Why not go for the newer 1068? Seems like a lot of Club Rotel members say it fixed the bug with the "double bass." -
Some more reading, more specific this time.

Seems to only be a problem with multichannel inputs though. -
Paul,
I remember all the hub-bub about the bass management issues associated with the 1066 when I had mine previously but didn't really encounter any of that setting up my system. I did do all the software upgrades and not sure whether that had anything to do with eliminating the bass management issue. Been awhile and just can't remember. I do however remember a fix to the problem by either sending the unit to Rotel for the fix or if one had the balls you could fix it yourself with a little drilling for a switch and some soldering. Anyhow thanks for the heads up and I'll do a little more investigating on this issue.

How do, Greg! good to see you back. Hope all is well, ready for a second round? what speakers are you going with?I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Yup, time to do it againl. Last two years have been real character builders with the custody thing, then I crashed my scooter and was laid up awhile and once I healed from that I blew out some disks in my back..two major and two minor which laid me up some more. Just now starting to feel better. The loss of income killed me but we are back on the mend financially and of course the first toys to buy back are the H/T components. Looking for used Rotel 1066/1075 or 1095 combo or the Outlaw 750 amp and Pro. Down the road it's the LSi's all the way. 15's up front, 7's in the rear and not sure about the center or sub. Although one of the SVS subs seems the way to go based on all the positive feedback here on the forum on them. Just purchased a JBL E250E sub new for 200 bucks to use with the RTi's for now. Not bad actually. A little boomy but I'm still playing with placement with it and see what I come up with. Still quite not seemless enough with the RTi6 mains yet. Just wish I had more LFE crossover options with the H/K. And I'm limited to it's placement because of the smallish size of the room. Maybe try the granite thingy also. Still love my Yammy s2300 sacd/dvd-a player. and I got the 25 year old turntable sounding pretty damn good with the Rotel phono pre. Yup, getting all kinds of excited again. And I do miss those SDA's with the Nad integrated and CD player BIG TIME! Here we go again..back to the future.suds, suds and more suds!

Cool. At least you know about it then and can make an informed decision. If you don't listen to SACD or DVD audio (multichannel inputs) you should be fine. I wasn't sure what you were going to use it for so I wanted to let you know. There are two resistors one can "snip" to cure the problem.
Man, stay healthy and good luck on the recovery. You've been through a lot.

Pj and Polatese, thanks for the kind words. There really are a bunch of great guys on this forum with a wealth of information on audio related stuff and I just hope I can give back at least a fraction of input of what I recieved here eventually.
I have been out of work for quite some time which gave me ample opportunity to mess with my systems (there is a silver lining in every cloud) and it is amazing the quality of sound you can get out of even a very modest affordable system with proper speaker placement and crossover settings. And the little things like the center channel boost for dialogue when listening at lower volume levels that the yammy offers for DVD-V. Even learned how to recalibrate my widescreen rear projection TV. What an improvement. Anyway, I'll shut up now. Got some more playing to do.
