Question: is it better than the superbit version? I'm very curious to find this out.

I've got the Superbit version but will pass on this latest version. I'm waiting for the Super-Mega-Uncut-Directors-Bother-in-Law- Super Special Enhanced with Feel-A-Round Sound Edition.

Enough is enough! The damn studios are so stinkin' greedy it's not even funny.

I read over at www.dvdtalk.com that the only reason to buy this if you have the Superbit release is for the extras, otherwise it's a wash.

Reminds me of Stargate coming out with 3 different versions. But unlike Fifth, it took them 3 times to get it right... Fifth has two very nice versions. Makes no sense.

Also reminds me of the 20 version of T2 *sigh*

now I was reading the back of this new UE and noticed how it said the video was remade with High Definition. WTF? It never said it was 720p or 1080i or anything like that, just said remade in HD. I know superbit movies have higher resolution for video but it's not HD quality so what's so special about this one??

This movie was plain awful, so why the hell come out with another edition? No amount of HD, DTS or whatever it is will turn a horrible movie into a swan.

Well that's your opinion, and in this case it's in the minority. Just because you or I don't like a movie doesn't mean that it shouldn't get a certain treatment.

I happen to despise most Academy Award winning movies, as they tend to be too highbrow for my tastes. I prefer action and/or special effects films. That doesn't mean that *I* should have any say in whether a movie is rereleased/remastered/etc.

Oh and by the way... I also love that "Bruce Willis cinematic travesty" that most people despise ... Hudson Hawk. It's fun in a campy, intentionally irreverent way. So sue me...

Its truly in HD (sure you could find the resolution somewhere on the web). Currently, you need Windows Media Player 8 or 9 and a nice computer to run it in HD.

This movie was just plain hilarious. Mila Jovovich is hotter than hell. Early Chris Tucker = Hilarious....and frankly...I like Bruce Willis.

Also...how can a Gary Oldman fan pass up this one?

I guess I can see how someone wouldn't like it, but man...sense of humor!?

Not only is it a fun flick, but the Superbit is a great HT test/demo disc. Both the audio and especially the video quality are superb.
