need advice and opinion in choosing a receiver between denon 3802 or onkyo ds797. Which receiver will sound better on my system? I have rta 15 on front speaker, f/x 500i on rear and will be getting the new CSI40 for center. I use my system 75% for Ht DN 25% for music. My dvd machine is pioneer dvdv-50. I would appreciate any help.

It's not what any of us think that counts, it's what you think brotha.

It's too subjective for someone to say, that X sounds better than Y. Some guys like Onk, some like Denon. I say, if you can, listen to them both and then tell us what you liked better.

Well i have the onlyo 797 and sounds great for me. To be honest i bet if you bought either one it will sound just fine. I would almost bet if i tried both receivers i wouldnt probably be able to tell the difference. But i dont have that sharp of sound sensing that everyone in here seems to have. And u could ask that question and get 1000 replies all saying one was better then the other but then again if they dont have the same tastes in sound as you do will it really matter what people think. PLus i think it may be hard to find a place that carries both Denon and Onkyo to be able to do a real comparison. Ideally i would think u would want to comapre them using the same speaker and room set up for both of them.

either one! both are great receivers for the $. best advice i can give you, is to spend as much time with each yourself to decide, see what YOU like better about each one, and then make an educated decision...

    enjoy demoing...:D
