OTHER THAN MONSTER! I don't want to run one of those cheap **** component video cables I've seen but I don't want to support Monster. Any other companies that you know of that have a quality cable for the PS2? I tried searching on Y! but the first 3 pages were either cheap cables or Monster...

Sony sells a set, and I've seen some AV packs at Target that look to be decent, but forget if they are component video.
Do a search on ebay. That's usually the good place to go for hard to find electronics.Brian Knauss

seen the Sony branded one at Circuit City several times, think its around $25.
would like to use one for my PS2 as well but don't have enough inputs!!!
right now HD cable, DVD, and the Gamecube have the only 3 component inputs i have. been thinking about getting the audio authority component switch. but if i spend that much i might as well just upgrade and get a new receiver. -
I've got an AV pack I got at Target, and although it only has one set of video/audio connectors for the TV or receiver, it has a connector for xbox, gamecube, and PS2. I would be interested to see if they have the same type of thing for component video.Brian Knauss

Well, I don't have my receiver yet and my TV only has 2 inputs but I'm going to be getting my receiver next month (COME ON TAX RETURNS! LOVE ME!!!) so I'll be set then. As for a new receiver for you, I haven't found any electronics other than seperate switchers that have 4 in, 1 out...have you??
i've read good things about this
four in, one out. also does digital optical and analog audio switching. auto sensing/switching.
can be bought here for $149
cheaper than a receiver and as you said, mainstream receivers seem to be at only 3 inputs now. -
So, if the PS2 outputs 480p through the component outs, do you need to have a TV capable of that signal then?

yes. You have to have a progressive scan capable TV to do any format of progressive.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

The Audio Authority is a great switcher. I highly recommend it.
The PS2 only has a handful of games that are in 480p, unfortunately. Although games do look better via component.
Gamecube has way more 480p games, and almost all of the Xbox games are 480p.
