Have any of you upgraded there tweeter in the RT line to something better like the on in the LSi speakers? Or some other tweeter? I know that they would need to be matched to work correctly, and the crossover wouldn't work right. But I thought I would see if anyone has done this or has any ideas?

I replaced a tweeter in one of my 2000p's recently. The one polk sent was from the rtxxxi line I believe. It was not the tri-lam (silver color)style. Polk said that the tri-lams were gone. I traded the tri-lam tweeter in my cs400 for the new one (grayish in color). That way, the tweets in the 2000's look the same. I cannot tell if there is any difference in sound between the two types.

I wouldn't bother, at Polk they designed the tweeters to work with their respective loudspeakers, if you swtiched them, who know what can of worms you could open, and yes. crossover issues would be apprarent, I would leave the tweeter as is, if you want upgrade, simply upgrade the whole thing.

I had an issue with that a few months ago. I blew the tweeters in my speakers & had them shipped back & replaced under warranty. I got the new style ones & I didnt really like them as much.
