Hi all! I am trying to improve my HDTV reception and need some advice. I am renting and therefore cannot install an outdoor antenna. Currently, I am using an amplified RCA indoor antenna. I can pick up ABC HD signals but, no other digital signals. I receive about 10 analog signals that vary in quality. What can I do to improve my signal? I am in between Syracuse and Utica, the towers being between 45 and 20 miles from me. Should I try an in-line amplifier to boost signal? A different indoor antenna? Please help. Thanks.:(
My Set-Up:

Monster HTS2600 Line Conditioner

Go over to the HD forums at avsforum.com. There's a section for each area of the US. You might be SOL with the distance and the requirement of having no outdoor antenna. I'm about 15 miles away from most of the DC towers and could use an indoor antenna based on testimonials from others near by, but I think others farther out in the DC burbs have almost exclusively been using those big ol' honkers.

I have the Zenith Silver Sensor which for me works very well for me. Much better than the other antennas I tried.

from about 6-35 miles. I am in the bottom floor of an apartment without a signal booster.

Now in my old apartment I was on the third floor and could get a signal from 40+ away.

Okay, I can now receive two digital stations (ABC, CBS) from 40 and 44 miles away. I must be fringe however, because I cannot consistently lock them down. I am using just a amplified RCA indoor antenna. I want to try a discreet outdoor antenna like the stealthtenna or radio shack model. Do you all think I should have no problem getting them with that, considering I can get them sometimes with my indoor antenna? Can you guys recommend an outdoor model that is slick looking?
