Hi, I am new to the forum. Anyways I have 6.1 receiver with the following speakers.

Center 400i
l/R surround fx500

My question is should I use a fx300 speaker in which the tweeters
are different then the 400 or 500 or use rt 25 for the center rear speakers( If not mistaken same tweeters )

Would appreciate any comments, suggestions etc.

I'm not really sure, but I THINK the back surround channel is mixed with direct-radiating speakers in mind. It seems many people use just one back surround and use a center channel speaker. With that in mind, if you're going to run a pair, then I say RT25i's would make a good choice. If you just want to run ONE back surround speaker, then maybe a CS245i.

The f/x's might work fine, as well. It would be best to keep the same tweeters all the way around, though, if possible. That's just my opinion based on what I've heard or read. I haven't even hooked up a back surround yet, though I think I'm going to try the CS175i, since it's sitting here, unused, on the floor. Perhaps someone with more direct experience will answer as well.

i would second that you want to go with a direct radiating 6th canter surround channel. if you are going to run a single rear channel, you could use cs400i/cs245i/rt35i/rt25i. if you are going with (2) for a 7.1 channel set-up, the rt25i's would probably be sufficient, but you could also go with rt35i's as well. try to keep with a model that has the same tweeters as all your other speakers...

I third that (wait, can I do that?). :D Direct radiating is diffenitely the way to go with rear surrrounds speakers. If you want two go with the RT25i's or 35i's, if you want one, go with a CS245i or CS400i (if you can afford it).

    Good Luck!
