i ran into a Sansui reverb amp here locally.. the seller doesn't know what it does.. as he aquired it from his uncle who passed away recently.

does anyone here know what this reverb amp does? it has input connectors for tape in a and tape out.. and L&R outputs too

They were big in the late 70's-mid 80's, they were supposed to give a "Bigger" feeling to the sound. Used to see them built into Graphic EQ's for car audio as well. Same principal, make the make vehicles interior sound like a damn cavern. A gimic really.

If the artist wanted reverb in the recording then its already in there, lots of them use a bit reverb, I would not add anymore unless you just want to change the sound of the recording for the heck of it.

I once had a 1970's console stereo that had "Vibrasonic" added reverb and a wawa peddle effect to tunes. Back then it made my pants tingle a bit. Back then I did some strange things.
