Surround Speakers

I'm thinking about upgrading my surrounds...curious which ones will work best given my setup...

I'm somewhat limited on where I can put my surrounds...take a look at the pics in my system showcase (see my sig for link). Where those speakers are now is where they have to be, really close to the listening position.

Do you think a set of dipoles would work better than what I have now (R10s I think)...

    Dipoles are usually suggested for side surrounds or rear surrounds several feet behind the listener.

    With that said, I have my FXi30's in about the same positions as you have your R10's and they sound fine. In this setup, one side of the FX is probably not helping anything because it doesn't have anything to bounce off of.

    Unless you plan on hanging your's from the ceiling(not an option for me because of a ceiling fan), I would probalby stick with direct radiating speakers.

    I swap between r10's and JBl E20 as my rears...trying to see which I like the most then the other pair is for sale......I know this doesn't help you at all....
