Help a newbie to SDA-CRS interconnect cables

Hello! this is my first post on the polk forums. I guess i will start with a short story. I'm in college and dont have much money, but i still love a good sounding system. Anyways, I was having a little competion with a guy down the hall from me. We were comparing our systems and I decieded I was losing. I upgraded my old Teac reciever to a yamaha HTR-5740. I built a box for my 12" rockford fosgate sub. And then while fooling around at salvation army i found a pair of SDA CRS polk audio speakers. I was real excited to see all of the speakers in such a small cabinet. I bought the speakers for 30$ and hooked them up without an interconnect cable. I came on the forums trying to figure out how much replacement components would be, only to realize that i got a pretty good deal and i might need a interconnect cable to make all the drivers work.
My questions are : how do i make an interconect cable?
Is 12 gauge wire good to use?
do the 2 big male plugs go to each other or 1 big to one small on the opposite speaker get connected?
What is a set of good condition SDA-CRS worth?
Sorry for so many questions.

    Welcome to the forum.

I take it you have the SDA CRS with the two slots in the socket on the rear. You'll need a two wire cord (12 gauge is good), then install spade terminals on each end (4 total), you'll notice that one of the slots in the socket is smaller, so you'll have to file down the spade to fit. Do not use a non-common ground amp or mono blocks with those speakers.
