Need SubW
I'm looking to add a sub w to my new system.
Currently using a HarmanKardon AVR130 / Polk R30's for the front's and Polk R15's for the surrounds.
Polk recommends the PSW 202 sub for my set-up but this model isn't available in my area.
I was considering the PSW 10, is this a good match for my system? Is it compatible??
New to this stuff but I want to keep my system compatible.
Thanks!

The PSW10 should be a nice match for your system. From what I remember someone saying, they are the same woofer and amplifier. They just have a different cabinet.Tschüss

Here's two very good options as Polk is not particularly well regarded for thier subs. The first is the Dayton 10" sub from partsexpress.com. It goes for about $99 online. It is said to outperform almost anything costing about 3x its price. Go to hometheaterforum.com or avsforum.com and do a search in their speaker sections for it. You'll see a lot of praise for this budget subwoofer that many call the "tiny mighty". And, the second recommendation under $200 would be the Atlantic Technology T70.1 PBM. It's a pretty nice sealed 10" design which sounds as good for music as it does for movies. Both subs play down to 25Hz which is quite a feat at these prices. Good luck in your search.Fulmer

The psw12 is a better subwoofer. it is lfe compatable, it throws out deep bass, and it outperforms some subwoofers that are rated at a higher rms. I know because I just bought one.

Fulmer, I'll have to check around my area for those brands you suggested....Canada.
I found a good deal on a Polk PSW 303. How would this unit match up with R30 front/ R15 rears??? -

what should I be hearing? i have the 202 -
I had the Atlantic Technology T70PBM. It goes down to 25 hz and was very good for musics and movies, if you have a smaller room. Being that it's a sealed design, it's not as efficient as the ported subs for larger rooms.

The 303 would be okay if is a really good deal. There are better subs out there, but good deals are often hard to pass up.Tschüss

I have the 303, cost me all of $100 when I bought my speakers last year. They had the deal of a free sub with purchase of $400 or $500 of Polk speakers, so I upgraded from the free sub to the 303. It only has an 8" driver but it does ok for me.Yamaha RX-V661

If you're in Canada is it still realistic for you to order from Partexpress.com? If so, definitely check out the Dayton. I picked up a while back for a second HT setup and it works and sounds beautiful. There is a bit of assembly (at least there was with mine) but nothing difficult.

Well, living in Canada does have it's limitations when ordering from the US. Not that it's impossible but rather the cost involved is outragous with regards to frieght, duty rates, custom fee's and not to mention the dollar exchange rate....in the end a good deal may amount to a loss. And don't get me going with UPS and Fedex cost.
However, I did come across a PSW303 for $249 US. Think I may go for the 303
