Hi all, this is my first post and it looks like a great forum to join. Lots of knowledge from the looks of most posts and I'm happy that I found this one. Now, onto my question.

I'm am planning on upgrading my current speakers to the LSi 9's, C and FX rears. I think they sound great, I listened to them (LSi 15's) at a friends home here in England and can't wait to get them. My concern at the moment is that I'm limited to Ebay and Crutchfield since I reside in England with a military job. I don't like ebay for much of anything so I'd rather purchase from an authorized dealer; the only one being Crutchfield. I'd like to know if there is any difference between the new LSi 9's and the old ones and which ones Crutchfield will most likely ship? I have read that build quality may be better on a particular one or it may not. Will they sound any different?

Well that's all for now. Thanks in advance for any and all input.

There is no sonic difference in the sound quality for the old and new LSi's. The difference are the fit and finish only. They used to be made in Mexico. There is a seem around the front and back whre the sides and top are joined together. The finish on them is more of a clear coat if I remember right(that one I might be mistaken). The new ones are made in China. They have a little bit better finish.
The old ebony ones were light colored and some almost looked gray. The new ones ar more of a gloss black.
The old cherry ones are somewhat of a dark cherry, whereas the new ones are a little more of a firey cherry.
Crutchfield will have the newer ones. I assume they have current pictures, but you would have to call and ask.

    Hope this helps.
