I have a pair of A-70 and they shine on high power.

Just for giggle, I hooked up a voice amp that puts out 150 watts and it really woke the 150's up. I didn't realize how old I've gotten--I forgot how good the tweeter is.

I've got some really nice a150's in the bedroom not even hooked up. I was using them with some older Yamaha separates and the sound was really nice, fantastic clarity, they lost their job to some Klipsch Fortes that pretty much smoke them in the bass department.

In college we had first-generation $700 A150's (1981 - woofer/mid/tweeter were centered in the middle of the enclosure) and they were fantastic. When I moved home in 1986 I got my mom a set of A70's. The A70 design, for a $300/pair speaker, was superb in fact it was so good that the designer became president of Boston Acoustics. The A70 Bostons are bright and clear but can only handle about 80-100w before they overdrive into undamped oscillation (U2 - with or without you). Until they overdrive, NOTHING can touch the sound. The A150's were always too rich for my blood and topped out at 150w or maybe 200w but they are now affordable and I might get some and try to regain my youth ... At parties they would suck so much dynamic power from our carver amp (500w/250w+250w) that the amp would shut down.
