On another board I saw a recommendation for "Gangsta Bounce" by Wolfpak for testing your sub. This really does have some seriously deep bass Anyone know how low it goes to?

couple of songs with serious bass that most wouldn't think of:

Tiger - by Paula Cole I think. I really don't like her music, but this one has some bass.

Sarah Mglauchlin (sp?) - I don't know what the songs are called, but there are a few tracks on her album Surfacing (I think thats the one) that have good bass. It's the album with that angel song from that movie with Nicholas Cage...Anyway, I know # 2 on that disc has good bass (crappy song though), and there's a couple other ones too

Before I added the SVS, I ran my 7's full range and my wife played #2 on Surfacing and about blew the speakers... On the SVS, the house quakes in fear...
There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. Nine-tenths of the rights he bellows for are really privileges and he does nothing to deserve them. We not only acquired a vast population of morons, we have inculcated all morons, old or young, with the doctrine that the decent and industrious people of the country are bound to support them for all time.-Menkin

Centered around 40hz with content below 20hz

    Link

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" is another good bass demo. Bela Fleck has good bass in general. Victor Wooten can play a mean bass!

    Enya - Storms in Africa
Peter Gabriel - Loved to be Loved
    Ronny Jordan - After Hours
    Crystal Method - PHD
    Yello - Tied Up

I'll second on the Bela Fleck, the Bass Guitar solo in Flight of the Cosmic Hippo goes way low, also, the Telarc Recording of the 1812 overture has real (well recorded) cannon shots mixed in.
That one is a really good tester for transient responce...
