System Configuration Help!

Hello All,

I recently bought a Harman/Kardon AVR 130 receiver, a pair of Polk R30 speakers for the front and R15's for the surrounds. No Sub or Center as of yet.

Trying to set up the system, I need to determine if the speakers are to be set up as "Large" or "Small"? According to the H/K manual, speakers capable of reproducing sounds below 100Hz are considered "Large" and should be set in the receiver as such. Frequency limited speakers that do not reproduce sounds below 100hz should use the "Small" setting.

What are the frequency capabilitys for the R30 and R15? Any recomendations how I should set R30 / R15's with the H/K system?

Also, I need to set up the "Triple Crossover Setting" but find this even more confusing. What are the cross over frequency points for front R30's and surround R15's?

Any advice / help would be much appreciated.

Regards

    As you don't have a sub-woofer, definately set the R30s to Large.

    I don't know whether you can get the HK to send base to the L/R Fronts. So my recommendation would be to set the R15s to large also.
    Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70

    Forgot to add, set the Sub-Woofer to None (I don't think need to worry about the triple cross over until you get one).

    Reaper:
    Yes, the HK will send base to the fronts if I set the base to OFF, so I will set the front R30's to large and leave the R15's at small for now until I get a subw.
    Thanks for the reply!
