Can anyone comment on the Creek 4330 integrated amp? I found a guy selling one local and was thinking it would make a nice "shop" amp for around $200. Am I mistaken? Thanks all-

It's nice. I'm pretty sure we have been in touch with the same guy.

Of course we are. The internet isn't THAT big!

I'm slated to meet him tomorrow night and seal the deal on the amp. Are you looking at the speakers.

Creek makes world class gear, I'd buy without hesitation.

The 4330 was made in 1998, features 35 wpc, 4 ohm stable, via discrete, high current amplifiers. There were two models, a 4330, and 4330 with remote. The remote model kicked the power up 5 watts, to 40/ch. Retail was $595 (on the stock 4330), so at $200 (1/3rd of retail), you are doing good.

    Cheers,

The speakers are the only thing I'm "interested" in, but I don't need them.

Cool- I'd hate to come between you and a good deal, mark. So, I feel pretty good about the amp. Thanks, Russ.

+1 on Russman's comments. Creek is top-shelf stuff. His integrateds are highly praised throughout the audio community.

Well, I went out tonight and picked up the amp and the guy gave up his Rotel RCD-950 CD player and a set of Monster interconnects  (can I type that without getting sued?) with it for a total of $250. How'd I do?

The little thing sounds great :D. One issue, though, is that maybe one of out every three times I move the input selector the left channel goes out. If I just touch the knob again it's fine.

I popped the top and found the selector is some kind pf push-pull mechanical setup. Will spraying a little contact cleaner in there help?

Other than that minor issue, I can't believe the range and authority that this little combo puts out. Seems like I'll be spending a little more time out in the workshop! First project, dig a little hole on the other side of the fence and bury the Monster cables...

Thanks for the advice on this one, gents.

Awesome buy! You could try contact cleaner--but I'd get it fixed if that doesn't work, it would be money well spent.
