I have a nice pair of EX365 6.5" in my truck. They both are now frozen, and the cones do not move. What would cause this, and can it be fixed? I use an AIWA 50 watt system.

Im assuming thats a head unit only system. If so then its actually an Aiwa 12 watt system. Head units suck as power sources and youre more likely to fry speakers with this low amount of dirty power.

If both have quit playing then its most likely not a problem with the speakers. Its very rare that 2 mids and 2 tweets all blow at the same time.

I would say the problem is your head unit. It may be time to upgrade.

When you say the cones don't move, are you manually pushing on them, or is it that they don't play any sound?

    Hmm, what type of frozen?

Sounds like the VC locked up - if it dosnt move - period...

Where the pole piece comes out of alighnment and sucks the driver back - but then it would look funny...
Soo hmmm - this is only a problem with older drivers though, newer drivers shouldnt be that vulnerable....

Could be the VC locked up but both? I guess its possible to blow both speakers at the same time but I think the odds are kind of low.
