7.2 Speaker Set Up

I am setting up my stereo in a new house and am finally able to use the free PSWW202 that came with my 150s. The question is (and I know everyone will say it depends on my room) but for GENERAL - INITIAL set up, is it better to have 2 subs along the same wall or in opposite corners of the room ?

Stacked, one on top of the other, in the same corner. Or, 4 subs in the center of all four walls.Go BIG or go home!

I second Sowen, my stacked 450's sound much better this way than when I had them one in front corner one in back.

I think one in each corner with one in the middle of the room would work best. When the ceiling comes crashing down, don't blame me.Political Correctness'.........defined

Here's another suggestion -- Since you have 150's up front, set them to LARGE, sell the two subs you have, get a monsterous SVS or Hsu and set it close to your seating position. Bass all over the place, dammit.HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

stick a sub somewhere then walk around till u hear where the bass is weakest....put the other sub there....
im not sure if that works, but someone told me to try it...since i dont have 2 subs, u try it -
I've done tons of moving subs around running freq sweeps, and they always sound best stacked in the corner. Putting them in opposite corners has always caused dips/nulls at certain frequencies. I've done this with Polks and SVS.
*Of course, everyone's room may be different. My room is a closed rectangle.

Thanks fellas, I've actually never heard of stacking subs, but I'm going to give it a try this week. I was afraid of putting them in two corners and getting dead spots like Polkthug said. Thanks again for the help.Onkyo TX-SR800 set up for 7.2

Your system will never sound good with those Monster connections you're using.:pHT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

Yeah, I've heard that from a bunch of cranky pants people before, but I just can't bring myself to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on interconnects and speaker wire while I have a mortgage and a car payment to pay, dig ?Onkyo TX-SR800 set up for 7.2

There is nothing really "wrong" with Monster Cable cables, it's just that there is something VERY WRONG with the way they do business. There are better products out there for the same price, or even less, and many more companies much more deserving of your hard earned dollars.Go BIG or go home!

While we're at it here, can anyone recommend an affordable, but decent 250 to 300w stereo amp ? I'd like to power up my 150's with something a little more pwerful than my Onkyo's 100wpc but don't have an arm and a leg to spend on it at the moment.Onkyo TX-SR800 set up for 7.2
