H/k Dvd 22

I just picked up this dvd player and I am not happy at all. I have a standard 32"sony trinitron (non-hdtv). I hooked the player up using s-video (I don't have component outs, dvd set to interlaced). When I play dvds I have these two problems:
1) The picture is jittery around the letterbox areas (where the picture stops and the black area begins).
2) The sound is delayed and doesn't match the video.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
Mike

I will presume the connections are tight, and the menu's are set up correctly.
Try non-interlaced.
Same problem?
Try a regular composite video cable....in other words the cheap yellow/red/white patch cable that came with the DVDP.
Same problem?
Try it on another TV.
Same problem?
Throw DVDP from 10 story building.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
everything is tight, and the two video options are interlaced and progressive.
I tried both (although I think progressive doesn't work through s-video) and they both still show a shaky image.
sounds like a return?????Receiver: harmankardon AVR235

Take it back. Pickup a Denon 910 or 2200 from ecost.com.

HK makes a good receiver but their DVD players and CD players are JUNK!!! Do yourself a favor and return it. Get a Denon DVD-1910 for around the same price and be MUCH better off.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

Thanks for the responses....I returned the dvd player and got my money back.
Man, what a weird purchase that was..........
Anyway, I'm still deciding on which player to get.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem, I have the DVD-22 and have been very happy with the performance. I actually sold my denon 910, as I thought the DVD-22 bested it. I do however, have problems from time to time with the 22 reading discs. Nothing's perfect I suppose.:D Good luck.My Set-Up:
