Why do some Monitor 7's.. for instance have a fuse and others do not? is it to protect the tweeter or all the drivers from overload? if it's to protect the drivers.. why then.. did some models of 7's not have a fuse?

The fuse protects the tweeter from being overloaded. The later models of Monitors (and SDAs) used an internal polyswitch in place of the fuse.
    Ludicrous gibs!
