DS7200 multi-room feature

I recently purchased the Polk DS7200 HTIB from of all places, Costco! I am new to home theatre but was always a fan of Polk and figured it had to better than those all in one systems you find everywhere you look. It is great sounding and I am very happy for the purchase. I see that it has a multi-room feature that would allow me to run another set of speakers outside. But I am confused on how to hook up the speakers to it. The manual suggests the Polk Atrium speakers because they are self powered. Okay here's the first question - what are self powered speakers and do I have to use them with the multi-room feature. Second question - On the back of the receiver there are only two rca-type outputs for the multi-room feature. How do I connect two speakers to these outputs? Is there another piece of equipment I need to buy to make this happen, like another amp? Last question - Would a set of wireless speakers work with this feature? Thanks in advance.

You don't have to only use self powered speakers. If you have a halfway decent integrated amp like some of those from NAD, that would work great for zone 2.

I have access to one of these systems at work. I was expecting good movie performance from them in a small room, but I was actually surprised at how halfway descent 2 channel music reproduction is on them. Much beter than I ever expected.

For some people, this could be all they ever need.
