Yamaha RX-V620 with RM6600?

Currently have an older model Yamaha receiver with analogue 6 channel input. Want to go digital to give my RM-6600 + PSW 350 sub system a boost.
Have been looking at the Yamaha RX-V620 receiver. Seems to get good reviews. Need a unit with similar height (can not really be any higher than 150mm or 6 inches), and price is about as high as I want to go.
Have read mixed reviews on 620, and it does not have some of the latest features such as Prologic 2 or 6.1, or THX or ES. Should I wait for new models first or are there similar/better units for my money? Interested to know particularly from people with my speaker setup.

I have a Yamaha RXV-620 hooked to the RM6600 and a Velodyne CT-120 woof. I put the old Sony SAW-40 woof in the backend of my great room for added oopm. However, I am a newborn novice but I am very pleased with the sound I'm getting. Mostly, I use the 5.1 channel for HT and music. As for your situation, it depends on if you want it now or willing to wait later for additional features. I spent more dollars on speakers than the receiver. Maybe i should have gone the other way around, dunno but am happy with the setup I have for now. Dunno if that helps u out but thats my 2 cents to ya.

Also FYI it has a 5 channel stereo option that basically runs the same as ProLogic 2. I play all my music that way with very pleasing results.
I also have the psw50 and it works very well with it. I think it is a good buy.
