I've heard the Parasound and thought it sounded great--- especially when you factor in what $$ it can be had for. Audio Advisor did have them for somehting like $249, new, but they may be gone now.

If you don't need phono, another one that way outperforms its modest price is an AMC 1100. Great inexpensive preamp that you can probably pick up for $150 or less. There's also passives, tubes, etc..... Lots of ways to go. A Carver C1 would fit in well with your Carver amps.

None of them are worthy of those M60's.

if you can deal with only 3 inputs and no remote, the McCormack preamp in the link below is very good. McCormack makes some fantastic gear!

    Micro Line Drive

Or spend $50 more and get the McCormack TLC-1 which is one of the two preamps that I own and it is a VERY good preamp for the money.

I think the unit is worth every bit of $310 and then some, but you can do better. I've seen it sold online for $249 before.

Ultimately, the price depends on what you're willing to pay and how much you want it, but $310 is a bit high for me when I know I can get it for less than 250 with some patience...
