rti12 power hungry

Hi, I just bought a pair of rti12s and my current receiver just isn't cutting it. I'm considering buying a denon 3805 and a Crown XLS 602 amp for the rti12s. My question is should I bi-amp the rti12s using the receiver to drive the mid and tweeters and then use the amp to drive the 3 subs. Or should I just bypass the receiver outputs altogether and drive the rti12s with just the crown amp.

Thats how I would do it, especially if you plan on pushing the other speakers in ur ht with it... voice matching and all that...

there are arguments for either way...do a search on here for bi-amp and you should find lots of good info.

Bottom line though, try it both ways and see which sounds best to you...

If you get a good amp with lots of power to drive those 12's, there's no need to bi-amp.

If I just use the crown amp, should I remove the binding post linking the two sets of terminals and and then bi-wire?

if you biwire or biamp, that metal strip needs to be removed.
