PSW10 Spkr In/Out accept 12ga wire?

I am planning on using 12 ga speaker wire when I help my brother set up his new polk based home theater. He got the PSW10 deal. I gather from looking at the manual that it only has spring loaded speaker clips? I would prefer standard speaker posts that would accept bananas, etc. Will the PSW10 spring clips be large enough to accept 12ga bare wire or do I have to buy crimp on speaker pins as well?

I haven't seen the physical speaker so I can't check this for myself. Polk doesn't seem to offer rear view speaker pictures on their site?

    Eh if it dosnt...
    Just strip it -then split the strands of copper in half, cut off one half (to the rubber jacket) - twist the remaining copper and call it a day........

    Atleast thats how I got it to fit in my 16 awg terminals on my Adcom amps! ;)

    CB, I'm not familiar with the clips on the PSW10 and don't know if you'd have a problem with the 12ga wire. As Sid pointed out, if you do, simply trim off enough of the copper strands in the stripped end so that it fits easily. The last half inch or so of a speaker wire can be thinner than the rest of the wire without significantly increasing the resistance. For example, if you trimmed it down to 16ga at the end, you might wind up with about a 12.01ga equivalent instead of 12.00.
