Damn Protected CDs!!!

Now this pisses me off. I just bought a new CD and wanted to put it on my computer so that I can put it on my new MP3 Player and I can't because the damn thing is protected! When copied to the computer if it even works there are pops and clicks. Anyone know a way around this? I can't do anything with the damn CD, the only way to listen to it is on a CD player, no computer and no MP3 player. Here is a link I found.

    you can record it in analog then convert that wav file to mp3.

    take it back and ask for your money back. Explain to them your primary listening hardware is a computer.

    You have to connect the line out of your computer with the line in then use a program like Windows sound recorder. You'll have to play each song (as if you were listening to it) as it's recording, it takes a LONG time but it should get you what you want...

    converting from wav to mp3 can be done on programs like Music Match, at least it used to, I don't know if it does anymore...

    there's a system file you can download or a registry hack you can do to force windows to "see" the actualy wav files on the CD, so that you can just drag and drop them like any other files, then convert to mp3 later.

    I don't remember what it's called, but it does exist...search around on Google...

    EDIT: I think it's a dll file that you add...starts with a v maybe?

    However I wouldnt do it! ;)

    I had a CD like this so I contacted the recording company and told them I wanted to take the cd and put it on MY iPod, not for resale and I am the rightful owner of the disk. They then sent me a link to a website where I could d/l all the songs in a format my iPod could play. Worked for me...
    Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

    Agreed, but it's nice to be able to rip to .wav (lossless, I believe) and then burn for backup and compilation's sake. Does that make sense?

    Also, I haven't purchased a CD that I haven't been able to rip to .wav.

    i have this cd and the same thing man it made me mad cant even listen to it on my pc. so now i just turn up my big stereo louder so that i can hear it in the pc room

    I remember reading at one point that if you hold down a button when you load the cd, it bypasses the anticopy stuff. I think you hold control. Haven't tried it.

    When you FIRST insert ANY new CD, press and hold SHIFT. That will stop any copy protection software or driver from being installed. Rip to your heart's content.

    hehe, not now!

    If you missed it the first time, you have to locate and remove the offending process or driver.

    What CD was it? For instance, Velvet Revolver installs SunnComm's Media Max. It would have to be removed before you could do anything.

    Glemay, after searching the internet i found that you can use a multiple of programs to rip copy protected CD's, anything from Windows Media 10. (Have you tried that?) to Nero.

    Nero is a legit program that is installed with almost all DVD/CD RW drives anymore.

    well so far I got it copied to my harddrive but when I try to play it on my mp3 player it won't play, it just skips the track.
