I am new to the HT arena and need some setup help. System consist of rt35i as mains rt25i as surrounds on 31" stands, cs245i center channel, and psw 350 subwoofer. reciever is yamaha rx-v596, with all monster cable wiring. Just need best setup advise for making my system sound it's best. It sounds good I love polk speakers but I also know it could sound so much better. Need to know speaker setup small or large, and the best setting for my sub. Any and all help greatly appreciated. I will post pictures of system in the next few days so you guys can give advise on speaker placement.

If you have not already done so, go get Avia DVD: Guide to Home Theater (available on the net or Best Buy) and an SPL meter (an analog one at Radio Shack $40). These are the 2 most basic and necessary items to any HT. Avia may be expensive but is well worth it in the long run.

For the setting on your speakers, the large means that all frequencies will be sent to the speakers. My suggestion is set all your speakers to small and send all the bass to the sub. But you have to fool around with many possibilities. One may sound better than another.

Welcome to the Wonderful world of HT!

    Good LUCK!
