My TV is freaking out for some magnetic reason. If anyone has a degaussing ring they can lend me, I'd be grateful!

    Rob,

Many newer sets have a degaussing circuit built-in. Have you checked your setup screen?

Yep- didn't find anything. I wonder if it degausses on startup, too. But, colors are still there either way. I wonder if I screwed up the shadow mask permanently?

Move your TV to a different location in the house and see if it has the same problem.

It ain't the location. It's the fact that I didn't realize my old Cambridge Soundworks sats weren't shielded. They were mounted to the bookshelves that I ditched in favor of the Salamander setup. I took them off the shelves and left them next to the TV for about a week before I realized last night what was going on! Eeek!

My daughter put a magnet on my TV. I had a purple spot right in the middle. I caled Sharp and they said it had a built in degausser. Turn your TV off and on every hour or so and it might correct. It took mine about 2 days to correct.

    That would scare me...

But hey, atleast she didnt shoot the TV like my step brother did....

He shot a 62" TV right down the center, quite funny when talk shows came on, IMO...

I used a big subwoofer driver to degauss my 36". Took awhile but finally got it. My arms hurt for awhile after that. :D
