Selling my Odyssey Stratos amp for $550 shipped. This is the original version (ODL). It's an absolutely awesome 150 wpc amp. Will blow away Parasound, Rotel, etc. Read the reviews, do your research. Weighs 54 lbs!! Excellent amp for a 2-channel rig.

I need to add that there are two lights on the front panel, but only one of them works. Gotta be a simple DIYer to change the bulb. Otherwise, the unit is in great condition.

    someone HAS to keep this in the family. if i just didnt blow a wad on 1B's and the radii preamp and more, i woul dbe all over this. never heard one of these, but would love to! This amp is supposed to be an audio bargain at full retail, much less this price, which is close to half. If there was any piece of equipment that should stay in the family. This is it!

    odl amplifiers were knock offs of odyssey audio amplifiers built by ex partners of klaus bunge who owns odyssey audio and also is the us distributor for symphonic line. klaus was the only one given permission to build this design which rolf gemein of symphonic line in germany originaly designed as the model rg 11 it is a patented design and klaus bunge sued his ex partners who were trying to put him out of business and won! odyssey offers a twenty year warranty transferable to a second owner odl no longer exists and as far as i know never had any warranty and odyssey has improved the stratos alot since then including plitron toroidal transformers and improved circuit boards and internal wiring from germany.

    I personally spoke with Klaus about this amp right after I bought it. The ODL is the original version of the Stratos. His partners were feuding with him and "stole" his design, had it manufactured and introduced it to the market, so Klaus sued them. Once the suit was settled, Klaus reintroduced the amp with minor modifications. After I told him how much I paid for it ($470), he said I got a helluva deal. He also said he would turn it into a Stratos (upgrade the capacitance, change some internal wiring, etc.) and provide a full warranty for a fee ($400); however, he said as long as it sounds good to me, there's really no need to do it. Of course, I opted not to do it. I sold the amp a couple of weeks ago for a little bit more than I paid for it and someone walked away with a helluva deal. There were only a handful of them made, so it's sort of a collector's item.

    odl at one time had a review section in audioreview but the site decided to remove it. there was a big controversy and fight between odyssey and odl and considering how good the design is no wonder things got so ugly and in the $500 dollar price range i agree it is a great deal! i just wanted give a little history lesson about the stratos p.s i talked to klaus and he is building me a pair of mono extremes with some hotrodded parts under the hood! 300 wpc 120 amps of current dual sets of wbt binding posts for biwiring 66 lbs each

    What the hell are you gonna do with those, power some speakers for the whole freakin' neighborhood?!:D

    i want to use the mono extremes to power a pair of paradigm reference studio 100 v3.s and if anyone knows how to get around the non common ground issue i would like to try them with a pair of sda crs rated for 350 wpc. i know that the 100v3+ khartago mono/ tempest preamp combination already sounds stunning! these speakers love high current and my khartago monos have 150 wpc 100 amps of current and the mono extremes doubie the watts and add 20 more amps of current and have 180.000 uf of capacitance. the sda.s love high current also. so if anyone knows how to get around the non common ground issue? please let me know. i am trying to get sda crs.s in a auction so if they cant be powered by the mono extremes i will use my rotel rb1080 200 wpc amplifier and rc 1090 pre amp with the little sda.s
