Tuner Setting/LSi Speaker Configuration

I recently purchased a LSi speaker set (LSi/c, LSi/FX, LSi/25 & PSW505) and am not sure how to set the tuner for optimal speaker range performance. Hoping one of you can help get me started.

The LSi/25's have an integrated sub, so I assume I can configure them as LARGE. Should I do this or set them as SMALL? If I set them as small where should I set the low frequency cut-off? The tuner default is 120, but seems a bit high to me since the speakers have large dynamic range.

The LSi/C also has a good dynamic range. Everything I have read suggests that I set this speaker as SMALL. Is this correct? If so, where should I set the low-frequency cut-off on this one so it will integrate with the front speakers?

Same question about the FX's.

FYI, I currently have the LSi/25's simply wired using audio cable. I have a sub-out that is going to the PSW505. Should I put a Y-connector and connect to the SW-out on the tuner or does it matter?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forum. You have a nice setup so far.
A couple of questions to help us along:
What receiver or pre-amp are you using(this would be what you are referring to as a tuner)?
What cutoff frequencies are available to set your center and surrounds to?

Set your 25's to large, like you said.
Set your LSiC and FX's to small.
Keep your 25's hooked up with audio cable.

    Hope this helps.

I have a Denon AVR-3805. It has a million options including being able to adjust the low-frequency cut-off on each speaker. Currenlty it is set to 120Hz for all of the speakers except the sub.

In the LSi/C specifications is it says the range for the speaker is 40Hz - 27kHz (http://www.polkaudio.com/home/specs.php?category=25&speaker=163). I can change the setting to on the center to send a lower frequency to the center. Should I do this?

Similar to the center, the LSi/FX has the same 40Hz - 27kHz (http://www.polkaudio.com/home/specs.php?category=25&speaker=162) frequency range.

I assume I would keep the front and the rear the same, but should I adjust the low frequency cut-off down/up to get the most of of the speakers?

Thanks for your help. I am excited to be a part of the Polk Audio family.

    I would try this:

    Lsi25: L
    LSi/c : S
    LSi/FX: S
    Set Crossover = 60 on Denon AVR-3805

Do you drive all speakers with this receiver? I believe the minimum impedance of the connected speakers is 6 ohms for this receiver.

Guys excuse me for jumping in here - I'm a newbie - just registered tonight but your thread closely resembles what I am about to do.

I am building a home theater in my basement - I have a room about 12 1/2 feet by 17 1/2 feet. I'm also going to use the Denon 3805 along with the LSif/x's, LSic and LC60I's along with an svs sub. I currently have LSi15's ordered but I'm really interested in the 25's. For this size room is this overkill? I'm going to get one shot at doing what I want to do and after that I'll spend the rest of my time paying for it so I can't really try the 15's and upgrade later.

    Does anyone have an opinon?

Thanks and sorry if this isn't the right way to post - I'm learning.

Your room is pretty close to the size of mine. I'm running 15's, C, Fx's, & 7's. Do yourself a favor and get a seperate amp, or just make the jump to all seperates, you'll be glad you did. Although the Denon is a fine receiver, it's not going to like driving a 4 ohm load at higher volumes for any length of time. Stick with gear that will be able to handle the load.
