Do you guys that golf have any of these that are for golf that can do ranges to pins up to 250-300 yards?
Bushnell makes a few and I'm looking around at the usual online place (Ebay), but don't know if there are any better places for that type of thing.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,

Even if I had it, I wouldn't know what to do with it, I feel part of the fun is the surprise of the unknown, I don't really like playing a course I know well.

Is that the thing Rodney Dangerfield was using in Caddyshack?

I don't think you're allowed to use one in golf. That is if you play by the rules. Anyway, they should work great for golf as you have clear greens to point at. They do get a lot of interference from bushes, tree branches etc.

It certainly could come in handy. A lot of courses come with GPS already built into the carts these days. I wouldn't invest too much money in one of these. But if the price is right, why not? Of course that still leaves one small problem. How do I hit my 7 iron 163.25 feet??!!

LOL.....well, we've got a problem....the higher the number, the more the loft, the shorter the distance......
but, yes; I hit my 9-iron 170 feet.......that is, the three times-a-year that I play....George Grand wrote: »

Brett,
I've used them before, but if I recall, they aren't very easy to use at the distance you are looking at. They have worked over 200 yards, but I don't get a reading many times on the par 5s when going for the green in 2.They weren't Bushnell I am sure as they were provided on the rental cart.
Your course must also be set up with targets on the pins to allow the laser to reflect.
I couldn't tell if you have used them before by your post, so excuse me if I assumed too much. They are a great little tool to tune your irons into greens during the casual round.
You guys are right, they aren't allowed to be used for tournament usage or rounds scored for handicaps.

You can hit any club you want 170 feet, but when the green is 170 yards away you'll still be short.
