rt2000i
This is my first time so try to be patient...!!
I have been reading what a few of you guys were saying about what is better....floorstanders, or bookshelves..
You all had very good opions, and ultimatly decided that it basicaly comes down to personal preference.
I was suprised that nobody mentioned the rt2000i`s
Are these not worthy of some sort of praise ?
I am trying to get a little more into the audio, and own a few pairs of polks.
rt2000i`s , rti55`s , rti38`s ,and rt15 , and rt15i`s , along with a
245 center channel.
I still am looking for the right sub...
any sugestions..?
Does anybody out there own , or have any expierence with rt2000i`s ?

Welocme to the forum!:D
Since the RT2000's are not availbable currently, and the SDA speakers are so revered and sought after, most conversations will turn to them instead of the more recent offerings. However, the RT2000's very nice towers. I would not be ashamed in the least to own and use a pair.
Your selection of Polk speakers is quite good. Are you running them all in one system?
As far as a sub to go with everything, try SVS. They are respected around here because of their strong, low performane, and economical price.Tschüss

I have been running the rt2000i`s up front,
The rt15`s for surround rears, and the c245 for center.
I recently broke and disl~located my right knee in a dirt bike that I should have never bought , and have had the time to re- appreciate the 2000`s!
This is my set up as of today !
I run the rt2000i`s up front (a)
245 center
rti38 rear (b)
rt15i`s rear surround
rt551`s front (2ch)
rt15i`s rear (2ch)

I am always looking for the right combo, and now that I have more time on my hands, and don`t leave the house much (crutches), and I am expecting a good bonus this year, it is time to really see what I can come up with.Cary SLP-98L F1 DC Pre Amp (Jag Blue)

Have you tried dual center channels, with either the RT55's or RT35's? This would give you much more presence in the center channel, and maybe match the tweeters better on the 2000's(although I don't think the 35's have the trilam tweeter).Tschüss

I will hook the 55`s up to the center channel, and see how it sounds...
Thanks for the advise !
The right rear (rt15)is starting to "click" every once in a while..

In polking around on the internet, I have learned a lot.
Thanks to my first reply on this thread, I have decided to purchase a new sub... now that I have been headed in the right direction.
I was going to get a polk psw505...
Now I need to decide weather I should get (2ea) SVS pb10-isd`s
or (1ea) SVS pb2-isd/2.
Any thoughts ?Cary SLP-98L F1 DC Pre Amp (Jag Blue)

I've been running the RT2000i's for a couple of years now. I have the 400i for center and the RT55i's for surround. For sub...Ive been using the Velodyne Ct150 and cutting it low... Ive found a very nice blend with this combo.
I also have some RT800i's running on the B- channel of the Yammie.... 5-channel audio is killer....as well as HT. -
beardog03,
How large is your listening room? That will be a determining factor when trying to decide what sub(s) to get.
Also, if you are interested in getting new amp/receiver, forget the receiver part and go to complete separtates. You might try adding amplification to the front channels first, using your Yammie receiver as a pre-amp for now. Outlaw Audio makes some good multichannel amplifiers or monoblocks that would be decent upgrades for you. They also make a pretty good entry level pre-amp for around $799(right now it is $699). There are a few people that have them here on the forum, but I can't remember how much people like them.

You will need to account for the hallway when determining which sub(s). With the volume of air you have in in the room, you might be better off with the 2 PB10-ISD's. However, you might be okay with the single 12" since you already have four 8" woofers pushing air too. Maybe call SVS and ask them what they would recommend for your room. They are usually very helpful, or at least that is what most people on this forum will tell you.Tschüss
