    I have both LSi9s and LSi15s... I tried both sets of speakers in the same location... The LSi15s tend to have a bit of a boomy bass unless you do a woofer swap (the DB840 subs fit perfectly in the original woofer cutout). Otherwise, there is no real audible difference between the two other than the bass output of the LSi15. Since you are going to use a separate subwoofer, this should not be a concern.
