Dominant ear

Ever compared your ears as to which one hears better?

Listen to a voicemail with the phone receiver up to one ear, then, listen to the same message with the other ear.

My left ear has much better detail than my right ear. I suppose 16 years of subwoofer bass has taken its toll.

Regards,

    What?

I have better hearing out of my right ear.
When I got braces, they moved my jaw and now my left ear doesn't drain as well(blocking my hearing).

I have hearing loss in my left ear, but I don't really notice it when listening to music.

I've noticed my left ear has always worked best when on the phone etc., but everything's equal when it comes to listening in stereo and what not - I never gave it much thought, just figured it was normal - kinda like being right or left handed.......

    .......but I'm Polish..........so I have an excuse.........;)

I also noticed that I can hear the phone better in my left ear than I can in my right. I've never noticed any difference when I'm listening to music, though.

So, it seems common, or at least everyone who has responded, has a "dominant ear." For some reason, I thought I was more alone with this issue. :)

Are you guys with dominant left ears also right handed like me?

Probably TMI, but here's a scientific study from Stanford (might appeal to the graphers in the group):

My right ear is a lot worse but I know why. Military. Doesn't really affect music listening, or is this why I can't tell a difference between cables and interconnects? ;)

I can hear better on the phone with my left ear...

    I'm right handed...

    And right footed...

I'm pretty much blind in both eyes...
