OK I have a few extra bucks kickin around and have been looking for some new speakers for rear surrounds. I already have a set of the Rti8's. The local Circuit City has a set of floor model 8's that look like they have been used pretty hard but sound great they only want $129.00 ea. for them. I also can get a set of Monitor 60's New in the box for $349.00. This decission is making me crazy because I am kinda picky about my equipments looks. Do I go with the not so perfect 8's or the new 60's. Help me decide!

Buy both, bring them home and take a listen. If you decide you don't want the RTi8's, then resell them and try to make a little money.
You will be happier with the 8's because they are timber matched, but it is up to you in the end.
If you want timber matching and good looks, then try Crutchfields open box FXi3's or RTi6's for your surrounds.
Have fun and don't get too stressed out.

RTi8....but I wouldn't buy the beater over the new.

I'd way rather have a set of used 8's over new 60's. I'm not that impressed with the new Monitor line.

I meant, don't buy used simply because of a good deal, especially if they are beat up. The RTi is a better speaker IMO.

buy the 8's and place a plant in front of them if they are that beat up. that would make for a very nice system.. 8's in front, 8's in back.. what do you use for a center and sub?
