Yep! I rearranged my room to make it look like a 2-channel only system. I dont use the HT side of my system enough to keep it up front....and since everything about the HT is seperate from the 2 channel part - well, the rest is pretty easily explained...

Looks purdy good, now I just need a silver CDP made by B&K, which they dont make. So many a silver Cambridge Azur 540 or 640!

(For those that dont already know) -
Mains - DT BP10B
Sub - SVS PCi 22-31
Amp - B&K ST 125.2
Preamp - B&K PT5
CDP - Denon DCM-280

If you're going to shamelessly toss your Xbox behind your TV, I'll take it off your hands.

    For shame.

Shows what you know ****! LoL

The controller still reaches my bed with ease!

    See -

I have to plug up my preamp to get sound for movies and games, so I have to go back there to plug stuff up anyways - so while I am back there I would put in a game, etc etc...

    Works good

    Thanks all for the comments!

I am getting custom caps made for my definitives...

And depending on the color I get - I plan to make a completely new TV stand in shop 2, along with new surround shelves...

and eventually, I plan to move all the HT gear to the back of the room...

    Yup yup!

    BTW -
Danger, my 2-channel system is only a portion of the sheat I have picked up over the past 3 years... its an addiction...I swear

In the Den I have -
    Pioneer Mains
    Pioneer Receiver
    Sansui Tuner

    Computer System -
DIY Mains (2 pairs - giving one pair to a friend in Kansas)
    DIY subwoofer
Soon to have a Marantz 1040 Integrated

Then I got the Adcom 545 and the DT BP6B which arnt pictured...

Then I have the prototype DIY speakers I made...
and the Black Labs that are shoved back in the corner there....

Soon to have the Polk RT 8 up in here!

Then I have a Yamaha Tuna and 2 pairs of Advents at my dads (but they dont count)...

    I got to much sheat...

I dont see how Russ and them do it!

Sid, you REALLY like those Def Techs on 2 channel music better than the Polks you had?

    Lord yes...

Biggest differences between the Def Techs and Polks....

Def Tech had a similar soundstage in depth, but walked away in seperation and width.... they sound much bigger than any of the Polks I owned...

They are much more detailed, except for the RT5. Which they are about tied, just really detailed speakers....

The midrange on these speakers are REALLY clear and not muddy at all.

The bass isn't boomy by any means, and just gets better and better with the more power you throw it...

Oh I forgot to mention the biggest improvement, the transition between the tweeter and midbass is seamless, cant tell when one lets up and the other kicks in. The RTi70 and RT35i both had serious issues with that.... the RT5 did it alot better...

And not to mention, the Definitives highs are not bright and are not sibilant....

    gotta love it...

I've owned them practically 4 or 5 months now, no complaints...

I auditioned some DTs once, can't remember the model # though. They were powered towers. I can see how they would be a fun speaker to listen to for movie soundtracks, but I didn't personally like them on 2 channel music. But, if you are happy with them, more power to you.

Are your's bipolar? If so, do they have a switch to kill the rear firing drivers to make them monopole only if you want to?

Well, like I said in another thread around here...

Only way to audition Definitives is in-home. The older powered bipolar towers had VERY boomy subwoofers in them, and werent much for music. The newer series has much better subs built in and sounds 100% better for music...

When I got my BP6B, i heard them in store and liked them pretty good. But when I brought them home - they sounded completely different. Went from completely dead to increble 'live' sounding. Those were really hard to tame/sound right, but I eventually got it there and it bumped all the Polks out of my room.

So then I purhcased the BP10B. I dunno, something about a product line being in production 9 years thats amazing to me! ;)

Yes, mine are bipolar and were a pain in the butt to get to sound good in my room, but after about a month of tinkering with it, I got it pretty good I thinK!

And nah, no switch - you just gotta have patience and place them. They are picky. And not to mention, if you don't have the power to run them, they don't sound good (another down fall with dealers, they usually don't power them good)...

Reason I asked is because I once almost bought some NHTs, again, can't remember the model #, that had a switch to go back and forth between monopole and bipole as it would engage or disengage the rear firing drivers as you wished. That way, you could have the best of both worlds for both movies and music.

    Hmm......

Interesting -- Well, Definitive is pretty confident that Bipolar speakers are the way to go for music. The sound definetely isn't for everyone - thats for sure...

    I like it.... hehe
