OK, I am coming around third base. I got my rt2000i fronts, the cs400i center and the f/x500i rears and a Sony strv555es. What speaker wiring is everyone out there in Polkland using? Bi-wire or ?

I think that only your CS400i is a viable bi-wire speaker; A decent 12 guage shotgun .... er, speaker wire should do nicely for all of your speakers.

Sorry, the wife used all the shotgun shells on me after my last speaker purchase.

It's a fact. There are a good number of cables from many companies you could choose from and be happy with. Everyone ends up with their favorite(s).

Years ago I settled on AudioQuest cables and use them on all my systems. From their double biwire "Dragons" down to their "Crystal II's" with many in-between. I can't recommend them highly enough. They have quality designs, use quality materials and offer cables in a wide price range.

Although not every system will show the same amount of benifit from biwiring, you could certainly give it a try on your's. The higher the quality of the electronics, cables and speakers in a critical listening evnvironment, the more benifit will be realized. On two of my systems, I have my SRS-2.3's; RT3000p sats; and a CS400i biwired.

I've got same setup as yours..except 800's for surround instead of 500's... I'm Using Home Depot 12g.. a 250ft roll cost about 70 clams.... hard to beat that...and sounds great.
One of these days..i will bi-wire my center once again...
