I was tightening some screws
Yep, I was tightening the screws on the only speaker I hadnt tightened, dunno why I didnt. I could turn them a good twist of the wrist too - hmm, wonder if this will change the performance...
The inside of these speakers are interesting, I wonder how they look all the way down -- hmm...
The driver arrays are seperated, I am guessing them join back together at the bottom at the long port, I am not sure...hmm
But let me see here...
Wooooooooofer

Tweeter magnet...
And no, these speakers are not shielded...
I wonder why they used gold terminals on the woofers and not on the tweeters???- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Man this is weird...
I opened up the BP6B - completely different speaker...absolutely nothing the same..
More questionable is they say it uses a TL design...but this is most definetely a standard vented enclosure??- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
The tweeter is different, the magnet is about half the size -- .... wth- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The drivers arnt seperated like they are in the BP10B
Interesting...
One must remember this is only a 600 dollar speaker though...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Woofer/Tweeter in cabinet...
Woofer uses a cloth cone, rubber dust cap and surrounds - Cast Magnesium basket, etc..- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Sid -- are you implying that you expected to see better build quality in your Def Tech speakers?HT/2-channel Rig: Sony 50 LCD TV; Toshiba HD-A2 DVD player; Emotiva LMC-1 pre/pro; Rogue Audio M-120 monoblocks (modded); Placette RVC; Emotiva LPA-1 amp; Bada HD-22 tube CDP (modded); VMPS Tower II SE (fronts); DIY Clearwave Dynamic 4CC (center); Wharfedale Opus Tri-Surrounds (rear); and VMPS 215 sub

No, not at all.
The fact the BP6B is like 10" shorter than the RTi70 and weighs the same exact weight tells me they are built fine.
What I am implying is, they say it is a transmission line, in which it is indeed not...
(unless I am going blind over here) --
The BP6B is built like a tank, hands down...just kinda strange up to the design...
As for the parts, I was told Definitive used the same tweeter all around, in which - it is not. But this is no big deal.
Bottom line is, which sounds better...
And which one is still here?
I didnt expect it to have steel walls or anything, its only 600 a pair...
It uses 1" thick Medite front and back panels...
Rock solid yo!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Now if my BP10B had a build like this, I'd be PISSED!
I find it funny how the designs differ though...
The Passive Bipolar line has been in production in 1996, still sells strong, etc -- no plans of changing it...
The BP6B uses longer screws, different padding - I dunno if fiberglass has any advantages over foam (thick thick foam BTW) -- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Those speaker wires just laying across the braces probably resonate something terrible.:D

BP10B - Inside...
Fiberglass insulation up top between the drivers and the long 3/4" thick brace...
Then a really thick foam pad lines all sections of the lower enclosure...
