More photography

This was a subject about a month back and want to revive it a bit.

I got my new digital camera package in last week. Got the Nikon D70 6.1mp SLR with a couple of Sigma lens (28-80 & 80-300), filters, carry case, tripod and some extras.

This camera freakin rocks!!! I'll post some good pics when I have time and when I figure out everything.

I initially was looking at the Canon Digital Rebel, but stumbled on to this one on several review sites. A couple of the major photo magazines named the Nikon D70 camera of the year.

    Man, that's a great camera!! If I had the money, I'd definitely own one! I'm glad you stumbled across it before you bought that Canon......

    Cameras: Nikon D100, Nikon N90s, Minolta Maxxum 7000i, Nikon 3100 (P&S) *sold Fuji S7000*

    Lens: Nikon 50 , Sigma 18-125, Nikon 70-300G, Minolta 35-135i

    The Minolta I used back in HS (1991-1992) for year book, mostly sports back then :)

    Now I prefer travel and nature/landscape photos...you can see my personal gallery here -

    I have two friends who both bought the D70 w/ kit lens before the new rebates...doh
    The kit lens is really top notch, silent and fast focusing 18-70mm

    I love my Nikon D2Hs (I have two), hate the D1 and D1H. Everything else I have I get along with fine...

    My gear-
    Nikon:
    D2H (x2)
    D1, D1H
    N90, FM2n

    Glass:
    Sigma 14mm f2.8 (disposable)
    Nikon:
    35-105 f3.5/4.5 MF,
    17-35 f2.8 AFS,
    35-70 f/2.8 Macro,
    70-200 AFS f/2.8,
    300 AFS f/2.8
    400 AFS f/2.8 and a great MF 400 f/3.5
    200 macro,
    1.4x teleconverter
    80-400 f/4- AFs VR

    Lights:
    Nikon SB-80 (x2)
    Nikon SB-28/d/x (several)
    Lumedyne 400ws 2 light kit

    HMMM- Seems like there should be more...

    Video- Canon GL2, Sony PC9, Lectrasonics Wireless mic kit, Tram and Sennheiser mics....

    Oh- Can't forget the jewlery: Leica M4 Wetzler (not the later Canadian build), 35mm f/2 Summicron.

    And thats it. Oh no, wait, forgot my trusty little digital Canon Powershot S230.

    OK- that's all I can think of... Except, of course for my old Canon film cameras that I gave to my wife a couple of years ago (Canon EOS 1n, A2, 17-35mm 2.8, 50mm macro, 70-200mm 2.8, 1.4 teleconverter, and a 430EZ) But thats all...

    I know it's a modest collection, but it's a well paying hobby.
