Finding Boxes to Ship Speakers

Anyone have any ideas on locating suitable boxes and packing floorstanding speakers? I'm looking at the possibility of shipping RTi10's and don't have the original boxes.

    Whatever you do, please do not use UPS. If something happens you're screwed. They will absolutely refuse to take responsibility even if you have insurance (unless they run over the package).

    Email Polk CS, and order a set of factory boxes / packing material.

    Yeah, I did that and they sent me a quick reply. Here it is:

    "Yes, we do have them available-
    RG1061-1 box $22 each
    RG1062-1 insert $13 each (I think you need 2 per speaker)
    If you want them you can order them by calling the below number M-F 9-6 EST with a Visa/MC."

    So it would cost a total of $96 for the boxes and inserts. Geez.

    Most big retailers separate their cardboard from the rest of their trash. Drive around back and have a look.
    Water heater boxes work well and are pretty stout. Home depot throws away all of the boxes for their displayed items.

    You may have to cut and paste (tape) some , but you can build bomber for cheap.
