Can anybody tell me anything good or bad about this player,mainly how does redbook cd's sound in it?

Good, but not as good as the 555ES. I would be on the prowl for one of those instead.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

F1 has owned the 777ES, single tray, and it was stellar. The higher you get in the ES line, the better the guts.
