does it matter which posts I use?

This is probably a stupid question (the Zappa quote applies no doubt!) but which posts do I use on the rt800i's if I am only using a reciever the upper ones or the lower ones or doesn't it matter?

Whichever one floats your boat, my friend. Since those gold-plated jumpers connect the two sets of terminals, it doesn't matter.

What Aaron said is true, but if you use the lower set of posts the RT800i is designed to explode like the bomb used on Hiroshima. So, whichever one floats your boat. I made that up. I use the upper posts and they've served to my satisfaction. See posts on bi-wiring if you're interested in experimenting with your connection in hopes of better sonic response.
