PSW350 with Yamaha Receiver Wiring Conflict

I have a PSW350 with RM6600 theatre package. My receiver is a Yamaha RXV2200. The Polk manual states in bold letters not to use the LFE jack on the receiver and then states the best way to hook up the PSW350. Finally, it says to set your subwoofer setting on the receiver to off or none. I understand all this and did it except for the off/none setting. My Yamaha offers 3 settings for the subwoofer: main, subwoofer and both. I chose main due to following Polk instructions about hooking the subwoofer to the main connections. Based on all this, I have 2 questions: 1) Was my settings selection of 'main' correct? and 2) based on their not being a setting for off/none, should I actually use the LFE jack? Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

    well from what you posted
My Yamaha offers 3 settings for the subwoofer: main, subwoofer and both.
i would say that the setting of MAIN would be like setting your sub too off/none and would NOT send a signal thru the lfe

and that BOTH would set your mains up to receive a full range signal and send a signal thru your lfe

leaving just the subwoofer. this would probaly set your mains to a small signal and send all bass from a certain hz and down to the lfe.
    1) Was my settings selection of 'main' correct?
    i would say yes
    2) based on their not being a setting for off/none, should I actually use the LFE jack?
    i would say no.
i would leave it as is (except for minor tweeking) and enjoy.:D
